Historical Yachts

Owner Legacy Book

A private historical book documenting one yacht for an owner or family.

A long-form volume covering the vessel from construction to present stewardship: archive research, ownership narrative, restoration history, interviews, photography planning and source curation, structured for print.

What the work covers

A legacy book treats one vessel as a subject worth documenting properly: how she came to be built, who designed and built her, what she was used for, how she has been altered, and what survives of the original fabric. It is written for the owner and for whoever holds the yacht next.

Research follows the same sourcing standard as the public archive. Plans, yard records, registry entries and photographic collections are consulted directly where access allows, and interviews with owners, crew, yards and restorers record testimony that is not otherwise written down.

Production is planned with the owner: format, length, image programme and whether the volume stays digital or goes to print. Photography and printing are arranged with specialists and quoted separately.
